Comics for Pinoy Millenials
Artist Rob Cham and I collaborated on a comic for the Philippine Star. It was 2014 and the task was to make a comic about millennials.
For everyone who read the newspaper growing up, they would be familiar with the full page spread featuring comics from America. This page featured iconic comics like Garfield or Archie.
We decided to reimagine the entire page, recreating the familiar panels to feature youth culture. It was intentionally polarizing, made so only people of that generation could understand the scenes depicted. It had obscure references and used language only a millennial would understand.
The comic was so well received it was featured in Abangan: The Best Of Filipino Comics
